One night,

One night, I was surfing around audiogalaxy.com, and I happened to glance at the message board for dc Talk. Most messages were the typical, "Best Christian Band....Yay, God!.....Awesome...." and stuff like that. But one message really caught my attention because it insulted my God. I started reading people's responses and became interested. Soon, most people forgot about the person (Teup) who started this message board, and a few people, all supposedly Christians, seemed to be getting mad at each other and fighting amongst themselves. I also became angry as I read this. My thoughts were, "YOU PEOPLE ARE SO IGNORANT!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!! WHERE'S THE LOVE!?!?!? STOP BEING SO QUICK TO JUDGE EACH OTHER!!!!!!!" I had many strong feelings like these, and I decided that I should contribute at least some kind of attempt to direct some of these people where I believe God would want them to be. My screen name at Audiogalaxy is "phatmama" (don't ask) just so you know...and I'm the last entry of this message board, as of April 13. There is plenty of explaination, both logical and spiritual, u are just walking around with your eyes closed! And for someone who doesn't beleive in God u sure do beleive his power (Genesis), those who died didn't die b/c they didn't beleive.....

I am not against fascism, i shall respect every opinion. Just consider it... But humans not being animals??? more important than animals??? why?? this is your chance to explain. sure thing Teup...Altho I won't promiss not to say the bible says this and that. B/c that is MY living foundation and truth! Now, Not every Christian believes the same thing, some acctually DO beleive in evolution, but only thro God causing it. Personally, I don't care what humans come from or if we evolved or not. It is not improtant to me, there are more important things in life to worry about. The Bible says that adam and eve were the first created humans, so I beleive they are. You don't have to beleive that if you don't wish to, like I said, not important where humans originated. About the bible being just a peice of paper to you....there are written artifacts in it that HAVE been proven true by modern historians and scientists, NOT all christians. For example, there is a tomb of where Mary (mother of jesus and many more named people in the bible)have been burrid that that the bible talks about, that the tomb has acctually been found names written on them and all! There's your logic. Whether you belive the bible is of god or not, it is still VERY accurate as far as history go's. Now as for be'n better then anumals, I am not sure where you are getting that concept from and singling it out to christian belief, but that is a WIDE wide wide widely accepted thought thro atheists as well as christians!

Here's a qustion on those trying to coerce a non-Christian to belive in what you believe. If they do not believe that the Bible is authoritative like we do then how is quoting it to them going to make them believe in it? As an example, if I quote the Koran in attempt to make you believe that the Koran is the truth you probably would not listen too long. Why? Because you don't believe in it in the first place. Just curious why everyone keeps trying to do that here.

Teup, if you want a real challenge, if your up for it, read "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. He was nonbeliever who set out to prove the truth, and it took him many many years . . .now he's a believer in the awesome Lord and he tells you why. He proves it through everything but the Bible.

The trouble is, in my opinion, we greatly fail as Christians when we try to use simple logic like "the Bible says so" when the person we're talking to does not even believe in the Bible at all. Nothing wrong with talking about Christianity in a Christian area but if a non-believer comes into the room I think the last thing we should do is get defensive and beat them over the head with Bible verses. What about loving and caring for the lost and having hearts that weep for those who do not know him. I didn't think that attacking someone with spurious Bible knowledge was what the Bible meant when talking about caring for the "lost sheep." I mean, look here. I, being Christian, simply posed a question and you guys bash me like I'm some lost outcast. Did you forget that I'm on the same team? I mean, look at my username? Now that I'm wounded I'll go back to my barracks and come out when I'm ready to get hit again by my teammates.

InHisName, the only people getting bashed in this chat would be US. Look at the tittle "Christianity SUX! Your God is a fascist!" What is up with that?? U know personally I think stuff like that is straight from the mouth of the devil trying to make us slip in our faith in OUR God, who by the way isn't fascist, b/c that would mean that God chooses sides, and uh he doesn't. And see'n as how your name says InHisName, you SHOULD know that the only way to fight off an attack of the devil is scripture. Not to say that the people who say that stuff is satan himself, but they are sure be'n used by him. THATS why we always use Bible verses, but just b/c somone says a bible verse doesn't mean we are bashing anyone! I don't see where you are getting that idea. Here: Neh. 8:10-"The joy of the Lord is my strength" no bashing there. The fact that people don't beleive in the bible is NOT the failure of a christian, alotho yes, some are bad examples, but God gives everyone a choice. See the problem is InHisName, we SHOULD be loving and caring toward one another which is why I don't insult by telling them to "get out" or "get a life." But the Bible is my foundation as well as should be yours! And when you tell us not to use it, you take the feet out from under us. Now I see where you are comming from, and I sympathise w/you to a very little extent, but come on, use a little "logic" yourself now...When someone comes in a christian chat and tells you that Your God sucks and all this stupid stuff, you SHOULD find it offencive and what do you think they thought we would do when they come into our chat and and start "bashing" what we know is true? Greetings all in the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ, I have just today come across your interesting little message board goin on here. I would say that all of you have interesting positions. For the record, I myself am indeed a born again Christian, and Jesus has changed me in a way I can possibly explain. As far as this discussion is concerned, I have actually worked on a study on evolution and the concept of God as the great creator and soverign, I thought if it might might help I would share some of the choice information I have come up with. The odds of a Bacterium emerging by chance is something like 1 in 10^4000 chance. The chance that something like man could evolve is something like 1 in 10^2000000. According to Borel's law of chance, anything past 10^50 is "impossible". This happening would be on the same level of chance of a tornado blowing up in a junkyard, and taking all the parts of a jumbo 747, putting it back together in perfect order and sending it into flight. NOT LIKELY. This points to something greater than man itself creating man, any other possibility presents too great a chance of error. Evolution is more of a philosophy than a science, it is man's attempt to explain himself away without having any higher power involved, and frankly, IT DOESN'T ADD UP. As for quoting the bible for the support of christianity, could you find a better historical document to study by? I mean this book has been found in print HUNDREDS of times, and all the copies are almost exactly the same, even though most of them are spaced by time and location. Look at the bible's prophetic stance, this thing is a whole lot more accurate than Cleo the tarrot card reader will ever have a chance of being. On a final note, some say that the bible is simply a concoction of man, and that it has no basis in fact. This is just plain funny. Think of the time span involved here, a 2500 YEAR CONSPIRACY? please. No human is capable of making up such a story to begin with, and if one did, it would take legions of actors and complete secrecy and dedication. I don't know about you, but I am not willing to die for a story, and neither were the diciples of Jesus. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM suffered for their lord, many dying a premature death or being exciled. These men would not die to cover a story they knew to be false, no one has that commitment to a lie. hi teup, i am a (newly) born-again christian, and i dont know verses after verses so i cant beat you over the head with bible verses. Anyway, i believed just as you do and one day i opened my eyes to just listen to what all of these "idiots" had to say(thats what i thought about christians before knowing what i do now.) one of the big things that made me finally trust that the bible is the undenyable truth is this... a statistics major decided one day to see how true the bible was and made the following conclusions. there are some 300+ prophesies in the bible. the odds of any of them coming true is like 10*10^4 or something. the odds of 200 coming trues is like 10*10^100. (which is nearly how many have come true) the odds of all of these being completed by one man is like 10*10^1000 and 11 of the prophesies jesus completed happened in one day!!! the day that jesus was born. i dont know about you, but if you do the math right, that fills a complete sheet in addition to a whole other half of a sheet full of zeros that say the odds of this happening. here's a small example of how the odds are: 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000000000, and it goes on for another whole page and a half.... do you find this unbelievable. well it is...but believe it because it happened.

What more needs to be said. God will reveal his love to everyone it is up to them to make the choice to believe or not. Jesus rox!!!!!!!!!! God is the best!!!!!!!!!!!! The problem is ignorance, people tend to judge things they do not understand. Read the Bible before you judge it see for yourself the truth it holds. Think on this the next time you are alone and in need of help or guidence, when no one else seems to understand, who do you cry out to. Who do you reveal yourself to. God, and he will be there no matter what. I know as many Christians do as many people do you just need to open your heart and let him in.

Everyone stop and listen. I have read all of your arguments and debates, and I see where every single one of you is coming from. You all have very strong beliefs, and you want everyone else to believe that your view is the right one. In particular, Drama4YoMama, it is awesome that you have such a strong faith in Christ, and I can sympathize with you about feeling offended and bashed by Teup's comment. I, too, am offended because of how he dishonored and spit in the face of my Savior. Even though I am offended, I do not hate Teup, and I will not treat him like he is Satan. I would show Christ's love to him because he is also one of us. I admit that I so often fail to love people because it is a very hard thing to do. I encourage everyone who reads this to ask God to help us love EVERYONE, even our enemies. I completely agree with everything InHisName has said. Teup is a sinner just like all of us, only he is a "lost lamb" in need of love and guidance. While our first reaction is to scream out in anger against what Teup said, we need to ask the Holy Spirit to speak through us and reflect the love Christ showed us on the cross. You may not like what I am saying because it is only human nature to be selfish and want to prove that "WE are right and YOU are wrong!", but that's not what this is all about. I believe we have left God out of these messages. We need to ask ourselves the question, "What would Jesus do?" Jesus would not judge His own teammates. It is ESSENTIAL that we recognize that there are millions of people in the world who are saved through the blood of Jesus, and there is a great diversity among all of us. We all tend to disagree and have arguments on issues that are not essential to the Christian faith, such as evolution, predestination......and many, MANY more. I know mostly all Christians believe evolution to be false, but believing that will never save anyone. It may be incomprehensible to you, but it IS possible that a Christian could believe that evolution is true and at the same time believe that man is sinful and that Jesus saves us from our sins. Anyway, back to the point. Please don't be ignorant and say how wrong evolution is if you have not studied it in depth and have a good background on what the person believes so that you have a fair argument. How do you expect a person to listen to someone who yells in their face "YOU'RE WRONG AND I'M RIGHT!!!" Of course they're not going to listen. This will only start arguments and cause divisions between people. We all need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us to love one another unconditionally as Christ has loved us. Unbelievers are most likely to believe when they see this love in people who call themselves Christians. Believe me, God's love has unbelievable power.
